How Much Does ICF Coaching Certification Cost in the UAE?
What you actually pay for when you become an ICF-credentialed coach in the UAE: training, mentor coaching, ICF fees and the hidden costs, plus how to compare programmes fairly.

If you’re looking at ICF coaching certification in the UAE, one of the first questions is cost, and it’s harder to answer than it should be. Programmes quote very different fees, and the headline price rarely covers everything you need to reach an ICF credential.
This guide breaks down what ICF certification really costs: what you pay a training provider, what you pay ICF, and the costs people forget, so you can compare programmes on a like-for-like basis.
First: who awards the ICF credential?
Training providers don’t award ICF credentials. The International Coaching Federation (ICF) does. An ICF-accredited programme gives you the coach education ICF asks for; you then apply to ICF for your credential, such as the Associate Certified Coach (ACC) or Professional Certified Coach (PCC), once you meet its other requirements. That’s why the total cost has two sides: your training, and your application to ICF.
The five parts of the total cost
1. Accredited coach education
This is the biggest part. For the ACC, ICF currently asks for at least 60 hours of education through a Level 1 programme; for the PCC, at least 125 hours through a Level 2 programme. Longer programmes cost more, so always compare fees against the number of training hours and the ICF level, not just the price.
2. Mentor Coaching
Both the ACC and PCC ask for 10 hours of Mentor Coaching: feedback on your coaching from a qualified mentor coach. Some programmes include it; many charge for it separately. Ask every provider whether Mentor Coaching is included, how many hours, and whether it’s one-to-one or in a group.
3. The ICF credential application and exam
ICF charges its own fee to review your application, and the ICF Credentialing Exam is part of the process. ICF members usually pay less than non-members. Fees are set by ICF and change from time to time, so check the current figures at coachingfederation.org before you budget.
4. Performance evaluation
ICF assesses a recorded coaching session against its standards. On an accredited Level 1 or Level 2 path, this is usually handled within the programme; on other paths it can be an extra step. Ask how your programme prepares you for it.
5. Coaching experience
You’ll also need logged coaching hours: at least 100 for the ACC and 500 for the PCC. These don’t cost money directly, but they cost time. Many new coaches build hours with pro bono and low-fee clients while they train.
The costs people forget
- ICF membership, if you join to get member pricing.
- Extra mentor hours if you need more feedback before you feel ready.
- Re-sitting the exam or resubmitting a recording.
- Time off work for intensive, full-day formats.
- Credential renewal: ICF credentials are renewed every few years, with continuing education.
How to compare programmes fairly
Before you compare prices, ask every provider the same questions:
| Question | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Is it ICF Level 1 or Level 2 accredited? | Only accredited programmes give you the education ICF asks for on these paths. |
| How many live training hours? | The fee only means something next to the hours you get. |
| Is Mentor Coaching included? | It can be a large extra cost if it isn’t. |
| How much practice coaching and feedback? | Practice with feedback is what prepares you for the performance evaluation. |
| What support for the ICF application? | A clear plan saves time and avoids resubmissions. |
| Live online, onsite or recorded? | Format affects both your cost and how well you learn. |
Is the cheapest option worth it?
Low-cost courses can be a good introduction, but if they aren’t ICF accredited, they won’t count towards the ACC or PCC on the accredited path, and you may end up paying twice. The better question is which programme gets you to a credential with the fewest extra costs and the strongest coaching skills.

Frequently asked questions
Does the course fee include the ICF credential?
No. ICF charges its own fee to review your application. A programme fee covers your training, and sometimes Mentor Coaching. Check ICF’s current fees at coachingfederation.org.
Is Mentor Coaching included in ICF training?
It depends on the provider. ICF asks for 10 hours of Mentor Coaching for the ACC and PCC, so ask each programme whether it’s included before you compare prices.
Can I get ICF certified with a cheap online course?
Only if the course is ICF accredited at the level you need. A non-accredited course won’t count as Level 1 or Level 2 coach education, so you may end up paying for training twice.
